# You have one hour for SEO. Which page should you fix? Choose one useful improvement using search visibility, business relevance, intent, and effort. Try the editable prioritization worksheet. ## Start with a business decision The busiest page is not automatically the best use of your hour. A service page that reaches plausible buyers may deserve attention before a broad glossary entry. Export a consistent 28-day Search Console window and compare pages within similar intent groups. First check that your candidate is indexable and intended to appear in search. A noindex setting, wrong canonical, or inaccessible page can invalidate a content-only plan. ## A one-hour workflow Time budget Action Useful output 0–10 minutes Choose a page and its target reader One job the page should help complete. 10–20 minutes Read queries and inspect the current page A specific gap in the answer or experience. 20–45 minutes Fix the most consequential gap A worked example, clearer answer, or useful comparison. 45–55 minutes Check internal links and metadata Relevant links and an accurate title. 55–60 minutes Record the change and baseline A dated note for later evaluation. ## Interpret the worksheet Business relevance is an editorial judgment: 1 means loosely related readers, 2 means a plausible product audience, and 3 means a direct customer problem. The position factor is a simple preference for existing visibility, not a Google rule. Do not optimize a mismatched page simply because it scores well. Read the query and result intent first. Merge or reposition overlapping content when appropriate, and avoid creating a second page for an intent already served. ## Measure the result fairly Save the date, page, queries, impressions, clicks, and conversion action. Compare equivalent windows after search engines have had time to process the change. Note seasonality and sitewide changes. A before/after movement alone does not prove that your edit caused it. ## Checklist [ ] Check indexability and canonical intent. [ ] Choose a commercially relevant reader problem.
